THE BOYS FROM BUENA VISTA ARE BACK WITH NEW GUEST ARTISTS FOR A NIGHT OF PURE PASSION AND UNDENIABLE MAGIC! “Rhythmic fluidity and sophistication… undeniable magic” Following their 2004 and 2005 sell-out smash hit tour, The Bar at Buena Vista featuring the original Barman and members of the Buena Vista Social Club, Afro-Cuban All Stars and Vieja Trova Santiagera, is back on the road again, and is set to have patrons dancing in the aisle and bring to us the musical magic that Cuba has to offer Havana was something of a playground for the wealthy of America's east coast in the 1940’s and 50’s and is still home to many passionate great music legends from that era who continue to live a life dedicated to music and dance. Cuba’s Grandfathers of Music brings together five of these greats who continue to exude passion, romance, love and energy that is so legendary of these Cuban masters. Celebrated 81 year old Maracaibo, 87 year old Reynaldo Creagh and 80 year old Maestro Rubalcaba and diva Siomara Valdes. Also this year we have Papi Ovieto, from the Buena Vista Social Club, ("the worlds no.1 TRES player") who will be joined by a band of musicians reminiscent of that 1940’s big band sound. Special guest on vocals will be the talented Leo Vera, lead singer of the world famous Afro Cuban Allstars. Dancing legend Eric Turro, the master of all Cuban dance styles will also be returning to mesmerise audiences with his moves and will be, of course, accompanied by his sensual, sexy dancers. ‘Here in this joyous show is the secret of almost eternal life’ ‘Intoxicating Tribute to Old Havana…jaw dropping dance routines by Eric Turro’s troupe’’ Cuba’s Grandfathers of Music is a passport to another time, another place that takes audiences not the downtown bar of a Havana Club of the 40’s and 50’s creating a festive cocktail of music and dance, in a night filled with raunchy salsa, rhythms of tropical jazz and Cuban folk music in a show that is as intoxicating as the rum served at the bar on stage. ‘The Bar at Buena Vista turns Cuban music into a lifestyle option…’ |
